This expansive green space, named in honour of Edward VII of England, offers panoramic views of the city and is a perfect starting point for your exploration. After capturing some memorable photos, we proceed to the historic district of Belém.
As we delve into Lisbon’s maritime past, you’ll witness how the city once served as a central hub for international trade. The River Tejo, a silent witness to the era of discoveries, plays a key role in our journey through time. Our first major stop is the Belém Tower, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1983. This iconic fortification, dating back to the 16th century, was a critical departure point for Portuguese caravels. Adjacent to the Tower is the Padrão dos Descobrimentos, a monument celebrating the Age of Discoveries.
